Gorman Enterprises is looking to hire a Heavy Duty  Truck Mechanic that will perform preventative maintenance on various types of fire trucks, ambulance, school and commercial buses, and various medium and heavy duty specialty vehicles.  Gorman Enterprises has a dedicated body shop with an OSHA approved paint booth. Candidates must have their own tools.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Preventative maintenance of vehicles including, but not limited to, lube/oil/filter changes, testing and repair of all electrical systems, brakes and suspension repairs, HVAC repairs, exhaust repairs, hydraulic and pump repairs, and occasional powertrain repairs
• Maintain and repair fire truck pumps and related systems
• Perform pump tests and diagnose faulty systems
• Diagnose and repair traditional 12-volt and complex multiplex electrical systems
• Thorough pre-delivery inspections of new, complex specialty vehicles
• New York State inspections
• Tool mounting, vehicle up-fitting, and light fabrication
• Road service in company-owned service vehicles, typically within normal office hours
• Prepare detailed records of all tasks to be used for record-keeping and invoicing purposes
